Barbaad is out now: Jubin Nautiyal’s latest heartbreak anthem for Saiyaara

After the hauntingly beautiful title track of Saiyaara struck a chord with listeners, the film’s second song, Barbaad, is now out . Composed by The Rish and sung by Jubin Nautiyal, Barbaad dives deep into the ache and longing of romance, a theme director Mohit Suri has long been associated with.

“There are always singers who become the voice of a generation for romance and Jubin Nautiyal is definitely right up there!” says Suri as quoted by Filmfare. “I was always sure that the album of Saiyaara would have Jubin singing a soulful romantic track.”

Jubin’s voice has been a go-to for heartbreak ballads and melancholic melodies, and with Barbaad, he taps into that signature vulnerability once again. As Suri explains, “Jubin has a very unique voice that makes romantic songs have more feel, more impact. It is a rare quality for any singer to have, which is why such singers become the biggest of the stars.”

The track explores the idea of love as both intoxicating and devastating — a theme captured in its very title. “Romantic songs have the power to evoke deep, personal nostalgia and I believe Barbaad will do that to people who have felt love in their lives,” says Suri. “Barbaad is a song about how love can consume lovers and yet leave them wanting for more.”

After the enthusiastic reception to the title track, expectations are high for Barbaad, especially as Saiyaara gears up for its July 18, 2025 release. The film introduces Ahaan Panday, cousin of Ananya Panday, and features Aneet Padda of Big Girls Don’t Cry fame. With YRF backing the project and Mohit Suri of Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, and Malang fame at the helm of the project, Saiyaara is shaping up to be a stirring addition to Bollywood’s romantic legacy.
